Kerry's Story

In 2011, Kerry Kaufman, along with her husband, Laurence Paperman, founded Kerry's Kitchen. When Kerry was 37 years old, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She battled cancer and underwent many treatments, all the while being a mother of four young children. Going through surgeries and treatments while trying to provide and care for a family is extremely challenging and intimidating and that is why Kerry's Kitchen is so important. Kerry’s close friends and family began dropping off homemade dinners for her and her family. These acts of support and kindness through providing meals to her and her family helped tremendously. For many of the patients in the Kerry's Kitchen program, not having to worry about what their families are going to eat on a given night is a huge relief. Furthermore, for these families to simply have the knowledge that there are people around them who are thinking and looking out for them is invaluable.
